Leaving Belleville

Reflect_portrait_bville.jpg

For our last staff class I had to find a photo of something I would miss about Belleville. I waited around downtown and found an interesting reflection and a couple min later people came by. Although this photo isn’t publishable in a daily paper for it isn’t clean and read easily, I find it speaks to the technique of feature hunting and looking for photos. It also speaks about Belleville to me in terms of the people that live there and quirkiness of the town in general.

The photojournalism program at Loyalist College provides plenty of opportunity for learning about editorial photography as well as documentary photography. Anyone thinking of taking the program has to remember that the people you surround yourself with while you are at Loyalist will teach you just as much if not more than while you are in the classroom.

Features in my front yard..

Here are some I’ve come across recently.
